William Johnson, MA, NCC

William enjoys working with those who struggle with attention / focus (ADHD), anxieties and panic, identity and experiences related to Sports, grief and loss, disordered mood patterns, depression, and major life transitions/stress.  His ideal client demographic is Adults and Teenagers, but is open to seeing children as well.  In his work with his clients, he enjoys working collaboratively to support them in the changes they are pursuing — by helping them identify the triggers to their struggles, help build change towards handling their struggles, and to identify a reframe for their thinking patterns around those triggers.

 

William graduated with his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Violence, Loss, and Trauma and is currently working on his doctorate degree.  He works with a multifaceted approach to therapy which includes: Gestalt Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Client-Centered Counseling, and Adlerian.

 

In his work with clients, he strives to provide clients with support to find their anchor in their struggles and to build the ability to dispute their stuck perspectives & orientations around their thought patterns and emotional struggles.  He enjoys working collaboratively with his clients to process their struggles and to unearth goals / strategies to pursue their definition of success.

He has experience working with children & adolescents, families, and young adults.  He also has experience working with athletes through multitude of areas — informed through his experience as a former athletes and his experiences with coaching.

William will be working under the supervision and guidance of Michael Stephens, PHD, LPC.

​
