William Johnson, MA, BS

William works with a multifaceted approach to therapy which includes:  Gestalt Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Client-Centered Counseling, and Adlerian.  In his work with clients, William supports clients to anchor themselves in the present, to dispute their irrational thinking patterns and the beliefs that come from them, and to strengthen their thought processes through collaborative and impactful sessions.

 

William graduated with his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Violence, Loss, and Trauma.  He has experience working with children & adolescents, families, and young adults.  He also has experience working with athletes through multitude of areas — informed through his experience as a former athletes and his experiences with coaching. 

William’s hope for his clinical work is that client leave with a newfound perspective on their thought processes and gain a new set of skills or insights to apply each week.  He enjoys having an engaging dialogue with clients and getting to understand their thoughts and emotions in an empathic and collaborative way while supporting them with reaching their goals.

William will be working under the supervision and guidance of Michael Stephens, PHD, LPC.

Accepted insurances:   Highmark/BCBS, Optum/United, CIGNA, and Aetna.  Sliding scale or Private Pay Arrangements can be discussed as needed.  Also has some pro-bono spots available as well.
